Why Do We Breed English Bulldogs?

Writer's picture: Palmetto BulldogsPalmetto Bulldogs

I am blogging this with a heavy heart. It has came to my attention the question "Why do we breed English Bulldogs?' is not a question that can be simply stated because the most beloved and popular bulldog "The English Bulldog" is not a simple dog that just anyone can breed!

Our homegrown Girl, "Chi Chi."

"English Bulldogs are so unhealthy" or "They are to expensive to breed" or "They are all inbred to the point of no return." or my personal fave when ignorant people do 1st grade math and add numbers up in their misinformed head, "English Bulldog Breeders are Money Hungry, They just want to get rich."

Without cussing I would like to share what our homegrown Girl "Chi Chi" has to say about those Statements!

We have chosen the English Bulldog breed for a number of reasons here is some of them.

  • They seem to be child proof. Their stocky heavy build helps protect them way better from being loved to death way more so than a number of fragile and tiny breeds. And they are such kids at heart that they seem to be way more patient with children.

  • To create our own bloodlines that focus on health so that would mean that they are NOT ALL INBRED OR UNHEALTHY!

  • They are so smart! Hard headed at times but more intelligent than most of humanity this day and age.

  • To get rich.(hahaha) But of course the profit would just fuel our ability to keep bettering of line of English Bulldogs, equipment, research and improving their five star lifestyle.

  • We love a challenge. Almost any other breed you can just throw them in together and let nature take its course. Not this one it is a full on up close and personal, get down and dirty, make it or break it breed.

  • We let our "haters" become our "motivators". (long story diff blog lol)

  • English Bulldogs are not NEGATIVE minded. Here at Palmetto Bulldogs we love our POSITIVE ENGLISH BULLDOGS that love almost everyone, everything and alway happy to be apart of a family.
